Mixed Summer Cup January 18 2015
The first of the Mixed Sunday Golf competitions was the 2015 Mixed Summer Cup held over three rounds with the best two round of combined stableford scores to count. The final round of the Mixed Summer Cup saw a number of potential winners venture out to try to nail the last hot round of combined stableford points.
The leading pair after 2 round were Pam Adlam & Ray Horsfall on 151 with both Melanie & David Cho, June & John Winstanley on 146 points and close behind were Sharon & Neville Cockayne on 142.
BUT sitting on an excellent 79 points from their first round, Helen & Roman Tomson (35/44) were there ready to pounce having enjoyed recent good rounds of golf, including the twilight golf on 16th Jan 2015.
Round 3, their 2nd Round did the trick and although Helen managed a 34 (only 12 better than her 9 hole twilight score the previous Friday), Roman continued his recent low scoring record with another 41 to back up his 44 points, giving a total of 154 points to head off Pam Adlam & Ray Horsfall on 151.
All rounds were played in perfect weather, warm to hot and on a course in perfect order despite the hot and dry conditions.
The format of the Mixed Summer Cup introduced a new organisation arrangement for Sunday Mixed Golf with Larissa Eruera (new addition to the Mount Pro Shop) managing the competition proper and the results.
